Good care protects both patients and your investment. Always follow the instrument manufacturer’s instructions and your local infection-control rules. These are the basic steps most clinics follow.
1. Pre-clean promptly
Rinse instruments soon after use so blood and debris do not dry on. Avoid leaving stainless steel in saline for long periods.
2. Clean thoroughly
Use a neutral or enzymatic cleaner, a soft brush and, where available, an ultrasonic cleaner. Open hinged instruments so every surface is reached.
3. Rinse and dry
Rinse with clean water and dry fully. Moisture left on instruments can cause spotting and corrosion.
4. Inspect and lubricate
Check edges, tips and hinges. Use an instrument-safe lubricant on joints where recommended.
5. Pack and sterilize
Pack instruments in pouches or in a sterilization tray, then sterilize using a validated cycle. Our sterilization trays, cassettes and sundries help keep sets organised.
6. Store dry and protected
Store sterilized sets in a clean, dry place and protect delicate tips.
